Formed in 2015 after a chance meeting with an outdoor cabin curator, looking for a Scottish distributor, Scotia Cabins are one of Scotland’s leading cabin suppliers. From cosy and comforting BBQ Cabins, to spacious Garden Studios, their products are stand out in the outdoor building world, offering a modern twist on the classic outbuilding.
Run by couple Caroline and Craig Haxton, Scotia Cabins first approached Action Coach in 2019, seeking additional support and direction for their business. Being married and co-directors can offer its own challenges when it comes to decision making and identifying roles within the company, as well as handling the day to day pressure of running your own business. They both identified the need for an external source with unbiased opinions to help them take the next step.
I met Caroline through Perth’s BNI Chapter, where at the time she was president at the Chapter. She approached me looking for some guidance within her business to allow the opportunity for new growth. While working with myself, Caroline and Craig took part in the following Action Coach programmes:

Book Club
Learn from the best as week on week we take a deep dive into some of the greatest pieces of business literature available today. We’ve covered the likes of Atomic Habits by James Clear, and Rocket Fuel by Gino Wickman and Mark C Winters, but also important life stories such as Let It Go by Dame Stephanie Shirley. This club is for anyone that wants to level up their skills, meet likeminded people and for those looking for a place to start with coaching. Your first session is free so come along and meet people just like you and learn from those that have been in your position.
A real focus with Scotia Cabins was accountability. Working with a business coach that will make you accountable for the decisions you have promised you will make is paramount in creating growth within your business. We create weekly and monthly check-ins to monitor progress and identify that each goal set is being achieved.
Scotia Cabins turnover before approaching us for business coaching was £300,000 in 2019. Since using our support, knowledge and being made accountable for their growth goals, their turnover in 2021 was a staggering £1.4 million.
